The United States imposed sanctions on the pro-Russia governor of Moldova’s Gagauzia region on Wednesday (12 June), a move supported by the pro-Western government in Chisinau.
The partnership will function as an umbrella arrangement for all interactions between Moldova and EU, according to Chiศinฤu’s foreign ministry.

Moldovan opposition parties denouncing pro-European President Maia Sandu’s drive to secure European Union membership said on Sunday (21 April) they were forming an electoral bloc in an announcement delivered in Moscow.
Members of a pro-Russian oligarchโs party can now run for president later this year.
Moldova’s Parliament on Thursday (21 March) endorsed an appeal to press on with a drive to join the European Union, but the opposition walked out of the vote and separatists in the Transnistria region urged authorities to drop their claim to the enclave.
